Sad news from Poway California, Mirl Duane Jones passed away on Sunday July 17. As some might know, he had been in declining health, with heart and other ailments taking quite a toll these past couple of years.

Born in May 1932 in Los Angeles, California, Mirl moved with his family to Niagara Falls after he finished high school. He worked for the City of Niagara Falls Parks Department, then downtown at Sears and Roebucks, as well as other jobs. He moved to Arizona in the early 70s, then settled in the San Diego area in the 80s. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, his father Mirl in Los Angeles CA, and his mother Margaret (Joseph) in Phoenix AZ. He is dearly missed by his 4 children - Tom, Sue, and Bill (Laura) Jones of Phoenix and Rich (Donna) Jones of Scotts Valley, California; and his 4 grandchildren – Sequoia and Canyon in California, Tyler and Vanessa in Arizona; his brother Carl of Phoenix, and his long time companion Dotty Hughes of Poway.
